# Delete a document

> Remove a document you uploaded for Document Extraction

Removes one of your [uploaded documents](https://docs.oneshotagent.com/api-reference/compute/documents-upload.md) and frees an upload slot. Extracted results and receipts stay with the goal.

## Authentication

A signed **write proof** or an access token: see [Authentication schemes](https://docs.oneshotagent.com/api-reference/openapi.md#authentication-schemes).

## Path parameters

**id** `string` *required*

The `document_id` from the upload.

## Response

`204` with no body. The same answer when the document does not exist or belongs to another agent.

## Errors

| Status | `error` | Meaning |
| - | - | - |
| `400` | `invalid_document_id` | `id` is not a UUID. |
| `503` | `document_delete_unavailable` | Retry later. |
