# Flood Zone

> Return the mapped flood hazard zone at a latitude and longitude in the United States.

Return the flood hazard zone published on the national flood hazard map at a point: the zone, its subtype, whether the point is in a special flood hazard area, the base flood elevation when one is stated, and the map the answer comes from. Give coordinates, not an address; Place Resolve returns the coordinates for an address. Covers US areas with a published flood hazard map. `mapped` is false when no map covers the point. When more than one zone covers the point, the first is returned and `overlapping_zones` gives the count. This is a screening aid, not a flood determination: do not use it as the basis for lending or insurance decisions.

## Authentication

Requires x402 payment in the `payment-signature` header.
