POST
Given a US Department of Transportation (DOT) number or a motor carrier (MC) number, return the carrier’s registration record from the US Department of Transportation: legal and trading name, whether it is active, legal form, physical address, telephone number, kind of operation, the classes of operation and the cargo it registered, its power units and drivers, its reported annual mileage, whether it carries hazardous materials, its safety rating with the date, its latest review date and the date it last updated its registration. Give exactly one of dot_number and mc_number. A DOT number finds one carrier; an MC number can find more than one, so check status. Dates are YYYY-MM-DD and a value the source does not give is null. total is the number of carriers returned, at most 5; no match is a completed result with total 0 and an empty list. It does not cover operating authority, insurance on file, out-of-service rates or crash counts.

Authentication

Requires x402 payment in the payment-signature header.
