POST
Lists National Flood Insurance Program claims for a US ZIP code, county or census tract, newest loss first, from the US Federal Emergency Management Agency’s redacted claims: loss date, flood event, cause, flood zone, amounts paid and damage. Total counts every match and can exceed the page returned. Claims are redacted; locations are approximate. This product uses the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s OpenFEMA data but is not endorsed by FEMA. The claims are redacted by FEMA; they must not be used to identify a policyholder.

Notes

  • Give exactly one area. Optional loss_after and loss_before include both dates; limit defaults to 25, at most 100. No claims returns total: 0.
  • Coordinates are rounded by FEMA to 0.1 degree and can fall in the wrong county. The source county code may not reflect the individual county where the property is located.
  • Flood Zone gives the map designation; Disaster Declarations gives declarations, not insurance payouts. Policies and paid-amount totals are not included.
  • Do not attempt to reidentify individuals or reverse engineer the source data.
  • Results return inline. The finished job stays available at /v1/requests/{request_id}
